“Instruct the holders of the entities (…) to file, within no more than 30 working days from the publication of this resolution, to staff who meet the conditions established (…) to start administrative procedures in order to enter the social security system”, states resolution 2, published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette.
The deadline given by the government of Javier Milei for the completion of this process was no more than one month. This is part of the plan to reduce the structure of the state and adjust employment.
The measure will be implemented to all state-owned enterprises, corporations and firms. Similarly, retirement processes should be accelerated for private institutions with majority state participation.
This measure would affect some 10,000 public employees, of whom about 6,500 belong to the permanent plant.
Mass retirement comes days after massive waves of layoffs, budget cuts and declining wages.
